Brief Overview
Zontec, Inc., located in Cincinatti, Ohio, develops a range of statistical process control software for manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, food processing, healthcare, and many other industries. Zontec and their products are consistently chosen for rapid implementation, ease of use, and flexibility, with exceptional support and a proven track record, by companies like Pepsi, TDK, and Arquest.
Project Goals
Zontec's previous site was informative and well-organized, but was in need of presentational improvements. While pertinent content was available throughout the site, the site's homepage was somewhat daunting, and gave the user too many options. Funneling visitors from the homepage to exactly the information they are looking for was a driving factor behind the redesign.
Increasing site traffic is often a high priority in a redesign endeavor - an increase in awareness can lead to increased revenue. Creating engaging content and presenting it well is one key step in working toward this goal.
The site looks great. Thank you for all of your hard work, we really appreciate everything you've done!

Implementation
Jean Green of Viridian Creative came up with a bright, eye-catching color palette, type treatment, and a photographic theme that evokes a spirit of precision and competitive advantage, while working in tandem with Magnate Interactive to provide clearer definition to content and site structure. The result was very well received and required only minor client revisions.
The site was built using clean XHTML markup and CSS, and enhanced with minimal JavaScript. The use of special fonts for headings is accomplished with a JavaScript/Flash based technique called sIFR, keeping the text search engine indexable and accessible to visitors with disabilities. The site runs on a PHP/MySQL-based content management system, which allows in-house staff at Zontec to make updates and additions when needed.
